My name is Paula I am 19 years old, and a new bride as of Jan. 12 2009

this blog Will mainly be about the things I am learning here as a young person seeking to following Jesus. I have lived in the Philippines on and off for 3 years os many of the things that I have written about are stories or lessons learned from my time there. My husband and I are back in the States now for…we don’t know how long. Whatever God has in store for us is what we yearn to want!

“learning to stand” – This may sound like a strange name, but I chose it for a specific reason. It is taken from a verse in the Bible which reads

“If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.”
Isaiah 7:9b

This is a verse that I am finding to be very true and very real in my life. With all the struggles and trials of life, and life as a missionary I see that there is no way I or this ministry would ever survive without His guidance, love and mercy.

In essence i am learning to stand, as a person and as a a person in ministry I am learning to stand firm in my faith, learning to trust the Lord with everything. It is one thing to believe in God but it is another to trust Him with ever breath you take and every meal you eat, trust Him that there will be another because He still has a good plan for you.

So this is my story, that I share with you. I will do my best to share honestly the things that are going on in my life, lessons learned, prayer requests, praise reports and updates about the ministry here. I pray that somehow my writing can encourage you or help you in some way.
